Jason Bateman Has an Identity Crisis

For fans of Arrested Development that name Jason Bateman is held in very high regard. He’s hilarious and his comedic delivery cannot be topped. Needless to say anytime we see his name attached to a film, our interest at Dark of the Matinee is piqued. Films like Horrible Bosses, Extract and Paul are all good examples of where he shines; and where he probably made the movie from just OK to pretty great. This is not foolproof, but it’s damn close. Well, what happens when Jason Batmen’s identity is stolen?  THIS!

Identity Theif  stars Jason Bateman as Sandy; a good-natured, financially-responsible guy from Colorado. He finds out his identity has been stolen by a short, fat, white woman named Diana. She can most easily be compared to Mimi from The Drew Carey Show; only more innocent looking.

When Sandy finds out an innocent looking white women is the person who stole his identity, he heads to Florida to take her on without the help of the authorities. Normally, I don't think I would look twice at a film like this, but because of the Jason Batemen bump I watched the trailer. I wasn't disappointed after watching the trailer, in fact, I laughed pretty hard at it. With the Batmen name as well as a cast including the always funny John Cho and Jon favreau, Identity Thief might be worth a look. Maybe.
