On Friday, November 2 at 7PM as part of downtown Phoenix’s First Friday, Dr. Diabolic will be present a live version of his show in honor of Dia de los Muertos.

The show will feature a Day of the Dead Musical & Flamenco performances, an animated short film and a special 35mm vintage Mexican trailer tribute. Tickets can be purchased outside Whiteman Hall for $15 with entrance to the Phoenix Art Museum being complimentary. The event is all ages with a cash bar being available to patron 21 and over before the show.

The good Doctor will be emceeing along with his co-host Nadia Neuroleptic as they present the audience with performances from some fantastic local artists that include the following:

Flamenco Por La Vida not only shares the passions of dance but gives the community authenticity of Music, Song and Life through the historic art form from the South of Spain, Andalucia.  Lead by Angelina Ramirez and Carlos Montufar the troupe specializes in casual “fiesta” improvisational styling to Solo and Group choreography. “There is something in it for EVERYONE”.

Casandra Hernandez and Francisco Flores are a Phoenix-based voice and guitar duo dedicated to the musical traditions of Latin America. They perform in the style of nueva canción (new song), the musical voice of the social and political movements of the 70s and 80s in Latin America and Spain. Casandra and Francisco blend Latin American folk influences with haunting melodies and an intimate performance style.

El Santo was Mexico’s most beloved Luchadore with a career spanning 5 decades.  In celebration of this folk hero there will be an exclusive tribute with a 35mm presentation of rare El Santo film trailers complimented with other Mexican film trailer rarities.
Hasta los Huesos is the award winning stop animation short film about a man who arrives in the land of the dead and with the help of a beautiful hostess, joins the eternal party.  It features the haunting song La Llorona, which will be performed live by Casandra Hernandez and Francisco Flores.
