MANIAC - Red Band Trailer

If you paid attention to our Countdown to Halloween, you'd know that we have a soft spot in our heart for the 1980's slasher film Manic. It's about a guy with mommy issues who murders and scalps women. He puts these scalps on mannequins that he's collecting and the rest you'd have to watch to find out.

Well, we've known for awhile now that the film was being remade based on a script penned by Alexander Aja. Ramakes always seem to get very heavily scrutinized and I can understand why. I think it's fun to see how different directors handle a film, but if it's a movie we love, I know that it's hard to see another version and enjoy it.

Below, you'll find one of a couple red band trailers that debuted at Cannes and I have to say I'm pretty excited. The story seems to have changed a bit, but it looks like they stayed true to some of the style of the original film. The thing that excites me the most is it looks like they did a great job on the gore and the horror aspect of the movie. I think it will be interesting to see how Elijah Woods handles the role of a Maniac, and I'm eager to find out!
