Overlooked Horror Films - Day 3 - You're Next (2011)

Every day in October we will be highlighting one of our favorite overlooked horror films as a way to countdown to glorious Halloween. We are hoping to bring some attention to films that rarely get on horror lists during this time of year. We hope you enjoy!
You're Next (2011)

What’s it about: A family get-together is violently interrupted by animal mask wearing killers. Good thing one of the brothers' girlfriend is trained in combat and survival. Part John McClane, part Taken-style Liam Neeson, Sharni Vinson kicks so much ass in this film.

Why is it overlooked: I think the home invasion thing got played out a bit and so this film never found huge audiences. It also features a bunch of other indie filmmakers and writers instead of any kind of name.

Why is it worth a look: Adam Wingard's insanely fun film turns the final girl troupe on its head. This is the film where the lead girl does exactly what you are thinking she should do. The film is gory and expertly paced.
