"Andrew Bird: Fever Year" Will Only be Screened at Film Festivals

Andrew Bird works his magic

At the start of the month as part of our Phoenix Film Festival coverage, Matty did a post on the documentary Andrew Bird: Fever Year. As you may recall from that, the film follows Bird on a year of touring, wrapping up with a performance in December in his hometown of Chicago.

The documentary is the first to capture Bird's unique, multi-instrumental looping technique and features live performances from the Pabst Theater in Milwaukee with Martin Dosh, Jeremy Ylvisaker, Michael Lewis, and Annie Clark of St. Vincent.

Andrew Bird: Fever Year is the directorial debut from Xan Aranda. Aranda has collaborator with Bird numerous times in the past and works as a producer for Kartemquin Films, the company that brought us Hoop Dreams.

The film will only have two screenings at the Phoenix Film Festival and this is key because it will only be screened at film festivals. There will be no theatrical release. This comes at the request of Andrew Bird himself, who owns the film. We suggest you make sure to get out and see it. Showtimes below:

Fri, Mar 30, 2012 - 4:35 PM, Theatre 9
Sat, Mar 31, 2012 - 7:25 PM, Theatre 3

For tickets please visit the official Phoenix Film Festival website.
