The Phoenix Film Festival and the International Horror & Sci-Fi Film Festival always bring something new and interesting to the Valley of the Sun.This year they're bringing us a new genre of sorts with It's in the Blood, the debut film from co-writer and director, Scooter Downey.
It's in the Blood is the tale of a father and son that get stranded in the woods and are forced to face demons from their past. According to the official website for the film, the movie is, "...a deconstruction of the prototypical 'creature feature,' incorporating elements of mystical realism and psychological thriller. We call it a pyshce-saga."
Ok, we're listening. We always like to see something new and refreshing. It's in the Blood looks like it may be exactly that.
The film stars Lance Henriksen (from the Alien franchise), Sean Elliot, who also co-wrote the film, and Downey himself. The film will have two screenings at the PFF, showtimes listed below:
Fri, March 30, 2012 - 9:45 PM, Theatre 7
Tue, April 03, 2012 - 9:10 PM, Theatre 5
Henriksen, Elliot and Downey will all be in attendance in support of the film. The film has already screened at the New Jersey Film Festival and the Derby City Film Festival picking up multiple awards including Best Picture and Audience Choice Award.
