PFF Showcase Film: Darling Companion

Today the Phoenix Film Festival announced their showcase films for 2012. The showcase films are typically some of the bigger films at the festival that usually generate a lot of buzz. They have a nice mixture of young, up-and-coming Hollywood talent and some of the more classic, veterans we've all come to love over the years.

As part of our continued Phoenix Film Festival coverage, we are going to give you some tidbits on the showcase feature over the next few days. The first film up is Darling Companion.

Darling Companion is the first film in 9 years from writer/director Lawrence Kasdan, who we all remember as the man who penned The Empire Strikes Back, Raiders of the Lost Ark, and Return of the Jedi.

The film stars Diane Keaton and Kevin Kline (who seems to star in every Kasdan directed movie) as a married couple, Beth and Joseph. Beth has a dog she cares about more than her husband, which is all well and fine because Joseph is self-involved. One day Joseph loses the dog and a frantic search begins to find Beth's now lost companion.

Darling Companion co-stars Dianne Weist, Richard Jenkins, Sam Shepard, Mark Duplass, and Elisabeth Moss. Attendees at the 2012 Phoenix Film Festival will have only one opportunity to see Darling Companion so you're going to want to purchase your tickets early.

Fri, March 30, 2012 - 7:00 PM, Theatre 7

To purchase tickets please visit the official Phoenix Film Festival website.
