Daniel Knauf is about to take vampires back! |
Daniel Knauf, the creator of the brilliant HBO series Carnivale, has been named head writer and showrunner of NBC’s upcoming Dracula per a report from Deadline yesterday evening (and tweets that soon followed from Knauf himself).
The show, created by Cole Haddon, is set to a have a 10-episode run. Jonathan Rhys Meyers is on board to play the legendary Dracula and the company behind Downton Abbey will be producing.
Would you let this man sink his teeth into you? |
I don’t know about you guys, but here at Dark of the Matinee we’re super stoked about this. I can’t think of a more perfect marriage than Knauf and Dracula. Knauf’s vision and style should lead to a very dark interpretation of the iconic vampire. You know, the way vampires should be.
If you are in the slightest bit concerned about this being another vampire franchise in the mold of what vampires have become these days, fear not!
“And if you’re thinking, ‘Damn! Another vampire show,’ excuse me but it’s DRACULA! No sparkling. OG. DRACU-effing-LA!,” Knauf said via Twitter.
No need to worry. This will be awesome.
If you’re looking to get your Knauf fix before Dracula hits your TV set, be sure to head on over to BxxWeb.com, to experience Knauf’s innovative, non-linear mystery, Bxx: Haunted.
