Overlooked Horror Films - Day 31 - Night of the Demons (Matty's Pick)

Every day in October we will be highlighting one of our favorite overlooked horror films as a way to countdown to glorious Halloween. We are hoping to bring some attention to films that rarely get on horror lists during this time of year. We hope you enjoy!

Night of the Demons(1983)

What’s it about:
On the night of Halloween, 10 teens decide to go to a party at an abandoned funeral parlor. "Hull House", rumored to be built on an evil patch of land & underground stream, is the place. While starting the party, the teens gather around a big mirror to perform a seance...BIG MISTAKE. They awaken some evil force and find themselves trapped and taken over one by one. Now it's a battle for who can survive and cross over the stream before going to hell....

Why is it overlooked: I really don't know why this doesn't come up more around Halloween. My guess is that it has just been forgotten about. The 80's were a glorious time for horror and there are so many films from this time, I think this one just gets overlooked.

Why is it worth a look: This is a perfect Halloween film. The film is funny, fast-paced, contains weird gore and over-the-top performances. The scene with the lipstick is a classic and will forever be burned into your brain. The soundtrack is also fantastic. Overall this is the whole package so do yourself a favor and watch this tonight!
