Overlooked Horror Films - Day 5 - Nightmares (1983)

Every day in October we will be highlighting one of our favorite overlooked horror films as a way to countdown to glorious Halloween. We are hoping to bring some attention to films that rarely get on horror lists during this time of year. We hope you enjoy!

Nightmares (1983)

What’s it about: This is a horror anthology all based on urban legend type stories that was originally set for television and then deemed too intense. The best of these segments features a young Emilio Estevez as an arcade champion who gets sucked into a video game.
Why is it overlooked: This isn't the easiest film to find. The DVD went out of print years ago but you can find it online and on YouTube. The film also didn't get much love at the time but we think it deserves another look through nostalgia colored eyes.

Why is it worth a look: As mentioned before the film is a flashback to the early eighties. The four stories all have their moments and the film moves along at a quick pace. The real star though is that rad second story with Emilio.
