Mill Creek Inks Deal with Sony

For years Mill Creek has been the place to go to find classic and forgotten films and bragain prices. Specifically for those of that are fans of classic and obscure horror, Mill Creek has been a goldmine. Over the years a number of films that now rank as some of my favorites I've discovered by buying a pack of 50 or so movies from Mill Creek and going throuhg them. Lots of gems in there at prices you simply won't find anywhere else. So naturally, when I heard the news about Mill Creek adding 600 plus movies and 50 plus TV shows to their library of DVD and bluray releases, I became very excited. Mill Creek Entertainment, a leading home entertainment distribution company, has entered into a US and Canadian distribution deal with Sony Pictures Home Entertainment (SPHE). Under the long-term licensing agreement, Mill Creek will distribute an additional 665 films and 52 television series from the legendary SPHE catalog via a wide variety of DVD and Blu-ray compilations and collections to Mill Creek’s extensive network of traditional and non-traditional retail partners.

Mill Creek films, under this ground-breaking partnership, will range from classics such as Das Boot, Finding Forrester, All the King’s Men, Moscow on the Hudson and Donnie Brasco to audience favorites such as Last Action Hero, Basic, I Know What You Did Last Summer, Flatliners, Anaconda and Are We There Yet?.

Mill Creek television series will include hit TV shows such as Married with Children, Just Shoot Me, News Radio, Mad About You, Party of Five, The Larry Sanders Show, Diff’rent Strokes, The Jeffersons, Good Times, Bewitched, I Dream of Jeannie, Charlie’s Angels, Starsky and Hutch and The Nanny.

“This enormous catalog of compelling films and iconic television series will propel our company to the next level of product and assortment development in the coming months and years,” said Ian Warfield, President and COO of Mill Creek. “We are excited to expand and enhance our partnership with the Sony Pictures Home Entertainment team to further develop our market reach across all viable retail channels.”

The full slate of titles has yet to be announed, but I was sold at Flatliners, sign me up. This is a great day for movie lovers, especially if you take pride in your movie library. I know there's a handful of new titles I'll be picking up for myself.
